Softening Images

Say you have a picture that is a little fuzzy or blurry or speckled, and you want to fix it up. There are two different ways you can soften a picture.

First way: using the effects browser.

Go to Effects --> Blur --> Soften (or Soften More, if you like)

This will soften the entire image. You're done.

Second way: the retouch tool.

Find the tool that looks like this:

Go to View --> Tool Bars and check Tool Options Pallete

Now, you will see a little box with lots of settings. It will look like this.

You can make the settings like these, or you can change them. The key is the soften choice in the drop down menu.

Here comes the part that you have to be careful about. If you're editing a picture, you have to carefully with your cursor draw over the picture to make it smooth. If you smooth too much, you'll make it blurry, so just gently go over the really fuzzy part.
