Meta Tags
What is a meta tag? It's an HTML tag that must appear in the header portion of the page. Meta tags supply information about the page but do not (necessarily) affect its display. Keywords:
KEYWORDS: Are just words you separate by a comma. For example: tutorials, contests, interactions, games. Description:
DESCRIPTION: This is the sentence or two that describes your website. For Example: A personal blog and visitor content website. Author:
YOUR NAME: Somewhat self explanatory there. You probably don't want to use your real name online (at least not last name) but do use some nickname people know you by. I might use "Julie *Cookies*". Robots:
ROBOTS: Robots are search engines (ex: google) that search your site. These words are separated by a comma (like the keywords). Cache: /kash/ A small fast memory holding recently accessed data, designed to speed up subsequent access to the same data. Now, you might be asking why you want to stop a browser from caching. Well, the problem I noticed with my site is some people's browsers were loading an older version of my site, and therefore coudln't view any changes or the new layout. To make it possible for the visitor to see the most updated version, you have to break their cache.
Fading Pages: This cool effect is to make your page fade to something when you exit onto another page.
No Image Toolbar: A code so people using Internet Explorer don't get that toolbar which allows them to save your image.
Redirect: This makes the page redirect to another.
