Does your 75-year old grandmother go sky diving?

Last weekend we went to hubby’s family reunion in Florida (near Jacksonville) that we’ve been going to for the last few years. It is held around the Fourth of July and since this year the 4th was in the middle of the week we had the reunion on July 7th. They had the reunion catered so it was an easy relaxing day of hanging out with family. I finally got to meet my new nephew and he is a cutie. He’s very generous with the smiles, not at all like his sister was at his age. I had to work hard for her smiles. I like getting to visit everyone but I tell you the 14 hour drive is awful. Especially with all this rain we’ve been having. But we can’t justify the cost of flying us and boarding the dogs (which would be more than 1000 bucks) when driving all of us is so cheap (less than 300 in gas).

The reunion is held at Nanny Jo’s house and all her 7 kids and their families get together. We counted that at the end of this year she will have 15 great grand kids (including 2 step). Anyway on Sunday July 8th Nanny Jo and 3 of her grand children went sky diving. One of those grand children was my husband so I went to watch along with his parents and sister and her family. Yea there were more spectators than jumpers. The Jumping Place that is located just barely in Georgia (and is the place that shows up if you Google Jacksonville skydiving) in a small town and they thought it was so amazing that this 75 year old woman and her grand kids went skydiving together that they wrote an email to the local newspaper and it sounds like an article will be posted about Nanny Jo! Now we just have to get a copy of that paper.

Anyway here’s a photo of Nanny Jo, my hubby and two cousins after they jumped.

So of course now that he’s jumped, hubby expects me to do it someday. And I keep telling him no effing way. I mean really, I have no desire to jump out of a plane. That just seems so wasteful of a season of theater tickets or some retail therapy.
