The birthday countdown has begun
It’s hard to believe that my birthday is almost here. I don’t know why, but I always dread the birthday times. Maybe it’s because until recently I never really had good friends to share it with, and now that I’m far from home, I can’t share it with my family. So I tend to get depressed around my birthday. Major holidays too, for those reasons. I just hate feeling alone in the world and hopefully with the friends I’ve made recently I can make that go away this year. Though there’s still the missing my parents factor. At least I got to see them in February. But anyway, this year there appears to be a whole lot going on in April. It doesn’t help that my birthday and Easter come together this year. Holidays should not be allowed to interfere with my birthday. So anyway I made dinner plans at a new Steakhouse and Piano Bar they opened up a handfull of miles away from my house. I’ve been wanting to try it out since I drive by the signs for it often. I made the reservation for Friday night, which happens to be Good Friday so some people can’t make it but oh well, it’s better than trying to do it the following weekend when more things are going on and another of my friends who’s birthday is two days after mine will probably do something if she ever finalizes any plans heh. It sucks having my birthday be on a Monday. Mondays are evil enough without having to be birthdayfied. It’s been a while since my birthday was on a Friday though. I like having my birthday on a Friday. Friday the 13th are not unlucky for me plus then I get to celebrate on my actual birthday. OK enough random ramblings on a Saturday morning when I can’t be too coherent. There should be a rule against being awake before noon on Saturday.

Yay for upcoming birthday! I’m sorry special occasions like that make you a bit depressed though; I guess I’d be miserable too if I couldn’t spend my birthday and special holidays with the people closest to me. But hopefully all your new friends in TX will help take your mind off that! That piano bar and steakhouse sounds nice (I’m sorry, but I can’t help but giggle every time you mention steakhouses…it just sounds so Texan, lol). Oh, and I totally agree about waking up early on Saturdays (and Sundays too for that matter). I hate getting up early too, even though I mostly just lie in bed awake - it’s just fun to be lazy and stretch out, hehe. Maybe I should have been born a cat.

Hmm, I wonder how popular a steakhouse will be on Good Friday… will they still cook steak? I remember having a hamburger on Good Friday one year and got death glares!
I hope you have a good time though, even if it is only a few people at least you will have someone to share the day with

I agree with you re. being awake before noon on a Saturday!
My birthday is on Hallowe’en so I know how it feels to have a birthday on a holiday. Sorry to hear that it’s often a sad time of year for you - but that steakhouse sounds absolutely lovely. I hope you have an excellent time and that this birthday is a good one.
BTW, the Live Traffic Feed thing is neat, but it says I come from Braintree. I actually live about twenty minutes away in a bigger town (Colchester), so goodness knows why it says I’m from Braintree!

I know the feeling. I have been away from family and the worst was after my divorce. It was hard to not see my son.
However, I know you should not have any trouble. All your online acquaintances and friends will be here to wish you well.

I remember you telling me awhile back that you’re birthday was on the 13th and that you liked it when it fell on a Friday.
I also agree with you that no one should be awake before noon on Saturday!! Sleep later next time!
