Busy Bee last few weeks
Wow so it’s been almost 3 weeks! I’ve been busy. Last week I was traveling and performing site visits for a client. Our client has hired us to develop a greenhouse gas emissions inventory to then be certified in the California registry. I visited 5 sites last week to gather data. Monday was only a two hour drive so I was able to go home after that. Tuesday I drove about 3 and a half hours north, stayed in a hotel and got some work done on my computer. Wednesday morning was a site visit that took about 5 hours, then we drove for 2 hours even more north, up in the mountains of Cali. “We” is me and the manager who decided to accompany most of the site visits. I was happy for that cause I got to follow behind him instead of trying to find things on my own. The next morning was another site visit, then we drove another two hours, this time kinda north west to Burney. And hidden away is this lovely little place called Burney Falls. So we had some extra time that evening so we decided to hike the falls! Check out the photos I took!. So lovely! Then the next day we did two site visits and then I drove 3 and a half hours home. This is Friday night. So that took all week. After two site visits and a long drive home, it wasn’t rest time yet. Saturday was Dad’s birthday and he had a party on Friday. But I got home just a little after everyone got there so I didn’t miss much. Anyway though, all that data sucked carrying to work on Monday to scan. Bleh. Heh. I suppose I’ll be part of calculations too, but we haven’t had a meeting about what to do next yet. I still haven’t had my employee development meeting with my boss yet, but Monday he told me we’ll have it sometime this week. He hasn’t scheduled it with me yet so I dunno. He asked me to think about what the company can do to help my development. I’m not too sure what to say. Any ideas?
Anyway, much has happened since I last blogged. I BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS!! That’s right!! So I got an ad in the mail that Nina’s Boutique was having a huge sale on everything in stock. So we (me and my parents) decide to stop by and see what they have. I wasn’t expecting to find anything cause boutiques only carry one of each item in various sizes, so the chances of one fitting me and being what I want are slim. But before we went I checked out the website and looked at the dresses by the designers they carry, and found some amazing dresses. I found one I really loved and was hoping they’d have it there to try on. Well, I tried on 4 dresses total. Three of which were the wrong size, but one of which I really liked. So I took a picture so I’d remember what it looked like in case I wanted to order that one. Then I tried on dress #4. Not only was it my size, it was the exact one I saw on the website and loved. And since it was in stock in my size that day, I got it for 50% OFF! It’s a ~$1000 dress, for HALF OFF. That’s just amazing. I had to buy it, and did! I also bought a tiara, also at half off cause it was the show piece and wasn’t brand new and still wrapped up, a veil, shoes, and a purse. Mom bought a dress too that she ordered in her size and color for the wedding. SWEET. All of that came up to just a bit over a grand. Sales rawk! Front and back pix are below (on the model from the website, it really shows off the dress well). Click for larger pics.

I LOVE IT, it’s so purty! It’s pearl colored with silver beading. We also decided on the date. It will be June 12, 2007. All I have to do is fill out the form at BridalDreamHawaii.com to order my package and pay my $100 deposit. I have to review my details to make sure I’m ordering what we need. As for the reception, Mom reserved the restaurant for June 24, 2007. It’s a Sunday, so we can close the place just for us. We already have over 100 people on our guests to invite list. If we have 100 we get a good deal, less than that we end up paying more per person. Anyway, it’s mostly the mafia (aka family and friends of the family) but a few Americans are invited too lol. I hope it works out well. I’m hoping I can count on my friends to show up. I kinda gave up on people after none of my friends came to my 20th birthday party brunch, only family and mafia. Not fun. Sure the mafia will bring lots of money but I want to be surrounded by my so-called friends and people my age, so hopefully it will be ok. The great thing about having it at a Russian restaurant is I’m saving money by combining location with food and with decorations. We already bought invitations (that I will print the message on at kinko’s later) and table number signs and cards to write people’s name on. We also bought the place card holders that double as favors. It’s a little metal bride and groom. So cute. It’s exciting, but scary heh. But I guess it’s official now that the dress is bought. No putting it off now lol.
