A year ago today my Grandpa died. If you want to read the blog entry I made about it last year and turned into a subpage, click here. I haven’t been to his grave in so long. My parents did get that rose planted and took some pictures, which I stuck in the same yahoo photo album that had the funeral pictures. I’d like to see it for real though, but it’s hard when it’s closed on Saturdays and I’m only home on weekends. Hopefully someday soon I get a chance to visit.

Last night was that wedding. It was actually very nice, I actually enjoyed it, believe it or not. The ceremony itself was really short so I didn’t have to hold back gags too much, and the reception party was fun. The band was great, we got their card. I’ve been to many a Russian restaurant and the music has always been pretty crappy, but this band has a good mix of people who can sing lots of different cultural music. I even danced. Mom made me, she wouldn’t let me sit by myself the whole time so she pulled me to the dance floor with her. It was pretty nice, except my high heeled shoes killed my feet and I could hardly stand afterwords haha. Dad took a bunch of pics which are located here. It was a very well planned occasion which made it really fun. It was also held in the beautiful Blackhawk which made it really elegant. Man driving past those huge houses made me really want to live there. It’s just such a lovely rich community. I want money.

The thing that made me really sad though is that my Grandpa won’t be at my wedding, if I ever decide to get married that is. He was one of the few members of my family who I actually liked and wanted to see. At my boyfriend’s house there’s this sign that says “Friends welcome, family by appointment” and that’s how I feel about most of my family. It will just be an emptier ceremony and party without Grandpa there. I guess it will be better with time, I mean it’s only been a year, but right now it’s still hard without him being here. There’s so much of my life I wanted him to be a part of.
